Corona Cake

I made this for my brother 21st birthday.  Its only appropriate that it be an ice bucket, filled with corona’s. It is Chocolate cake with chocolate filling. The outside is covered in fondant and hand painted with silver dust luster. The ice is a sugar and corn syrup mixture. The corona’s of course are real and were totally delicious!! Thanks for looking!!!l_dfacfd864de7fa72849e5dc030fbdd55.jpg

Hey I love your cake. I was actually working on a cake very similar to this for my little brothers 21st birthday. I have done a few practice ones but I have been having problems with my ice cubes. Is there anyway you could let me know how you made yours. Also the cans on my cooler cake don’t like to stay up. How did you get yours to stay so nice. I would really appreciate any help so I can nail these last few details on my bros cake. Thanks

Just wondering what you think is the best way to have the Corona’s stand upright. Did you insert some sort of piping(PVC?) into the cake for bottle support? Thanks…

  22. Becky, October 8, 2009:

hi Amber…i basically bought the little cornitas!!! i scooped a little hole for each bottle and just placed them in with some icing!!! no secrets…just that…but make sure not to travel with the bottle in the cake…put them in when you get to your location!!!! good luck!!! and thanks for looking at my site!!!!
